Managing Your Default Email Application

When you click on an email address in Pipeline CRM, your computer opens your default email application (like Outlook, Apple Mail, or Gmail). Your device’s settings control this behavior, not Pipeline CRM.

How to Change Your Default Email Application
For Windows Users:

  1. Open the Start Menu and select Settings.
  2. Click on Apps, then choose Default apps.
  3. Under Email, select the email app you’d like to set as default.
👉 Here is more information from Microsoft.
For Mac Users:
  1. Open the Mail app.
  2. In the menu bar, click on Mail > Preferences.
  3. Under the General tab, find Default email reader and choose your preferred email app.
👉 Here is more information from Apple.

Adjusting Browser Settings
If you’re using web-based email clients and links aren’t opening as expected, you might need to adjust your browser’s protocol handler settings. Here's a more detailed breakdown for common browsers:
Google Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome and go to chrome://settings/content/ in the address bar.
  2. Click "Additional permissions" and then "Protocol Handlers".
  3. Here, you can choose to "Allow sites to ask to become default handlers for protocols" or "Do not allow any site to handle protocols".
  4. You can also manage specific sites that have registered as protocol handlers.
Microsoft Edge:
  1. Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions.
  2. Select "Protocol Handlers".
  3. You can choose to allow or deny sites from handling protocols.
Mozilla Firefox:
  1. Go to "Preferences" and then "Privacy & Security".
  2. Scroll down and find the "Protocol Handlers" or "Protocol Management" section.
  3. Here, you can choose to allow or deny specific sites from handling protocols.
⚠️ Note: Some browsers might have slight variations in the exact steps, but the general process of navigating to settings, then to site settings, and finally to protocol handlers, remains consistent.
