Copy an existing person's details into a new record instead of retyping them — useful when you are adding several people from the same company.
Clone a Person
- Open the profile of the person you want to copy.
- Click Actions in the upper right corner.
- Select Clone.
- Fill in the fields that did not carry over, and edit anything else you need to.
- Click Save.
What Carries Over
The clone form opens pre-filled with everything the two records are likely to share:
- Company, Owner, and Type — a cloned lead stays a lead
- Source and Status
- Summary, Relationship, and the Key Contact setting
- Home and work addresses
- Secondary contact details: second email, home email, home phone, fax, and Website
- LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and instant message handles
- Your account's custom fields
What You Enter Yourself
The clone form arrives blank in the fields that identify the person, so you cannot save a copy by accident:
- Name and Title
- Email, Phone, and Mobile
What Never Carries Over
Cloning copies the person's own details, not the work attached to them. None of the following come across:
- Deals, Notes, Files, and the Activity Feed
- Record sharing — if the original was shared with teammates, the clone is not. Share it separately if they need it, using Share People with Your Team
Email opt-out status carries over. If the original person unsubscribed or their address bounced, the clone starts out unsubscribed or bounced too, and bulk email skips them.
