Custom fields let you tailor Pipeline CRM to fit your business needs. Whether you’re tracking company details, deal specifics, or personal relationships, custom fields provide the flexibility to store the data that matters most to you. No more one-size-fits-all—make your CRM work for you.

Why Use Custom Fields?

Custom fields help you capture unique information across three main record types:
  • Company: Track industry, size, revenue, or other attributes specific to your clients.
  • Deal: Record product interest, sales forecasts, or custom sales process details.
  • Person: Store birthdays, hobbies, or any personalized information about your contacts.

Setting Up Custom Fields

Tip: By default, all users can edit custom fields. Admins can lock fields so only administrators and executive users can make changes.
  1. In the lower-left corner, click Settings.
  2. Go to the Data Entry tab and select Custom Fields.
  3. Choose Your Record Type:
    • Select Company, Deal, or Person.
  4. Organize with Custom Field Groups (Optional):
  5. Click + Add Custom Field and pick the field type that suits your needs.
  6. Edit or Delete Fields:
    • Hover over the field name and use the edit (pencil) or delete (trash can) icons for quick changes.
Note: Once a custom field is created, its type cannot be changed.

Types of Custom Fields

  • Number Field: Store numerical data (e.g., number of locations, currency).
  • Text Field: Store any character(s)—perfect for names, addresses, or free-form notes.
  • Currency Field: Track money values, complete with automatic currency symbols.
  • Dropdown Field: Select one option from a preset list—great for regions or industries.
  • Picklist Field: Choose multiple options from a list—ideal for interests or recurring events.
  • Date Field: Pick a specific date from a calendar interface.
  • Single Association Field: Link to one company in your CRM (e.g., Parent Company).
  • Multiple Association Field: Link to several companies (e.g., subsidiaries).
  • Boolean Field: Store a simple True or False value for easy filtering.
Cloning a Custom Field
Need a quick copy of an existing custom field? Use the Clone Custom Field option:
  • Click the double paper icon (Clone) next to the field you want to duplicate.
  • The system will instantly create a copy, saving you time on setup.
