Why This Happens
When connecting an Office 365 mailbox, you may see this message:
"Pipeline CRM needs permission to access resources in your organization that only an admin can grant. Please ask an admin to grant permission to this app before you can use it."
This appears because user-level accounts can't complete OAuth consent for apps without the right admin privileges in your Microsoft 365 tenant.
Before You Begin
⚠️ Note: You'll need a Global Administrator or Privileged Administrator in Azure to make these changes. If you don't have this access, contact your IT administrator.
How to Resolve
- Sign in to the Azure Portal with admin credentials.
- Enable user consent to Enterprise applications so users can complete the sign-in and authorization flow.
- Reconnect your Office 365 mailbox or add-in.
- After successfully connecting, you can revert the setting if needed.
- For a targeted approach: Configure a policy that allows consent for specific users or groups instead of enabling consent tenant-wide.
- If the app requires additional permissions: Enable the admin consent workflow so users can request approval from an administrator.
This error is managed within Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory. If the steps above don't resolve your issue, contact Microsoft Support directly:
