What is Company Hierarchy?

The Company Hierarchy in Pipeline CRM enables you to view and manage the structure of companies and their subsidiaries. This feature helps you understand relationships within large organizations, making sales and account management more effective.

Key Benefits
  • Organizational Insight: Instantly see how companies are related and make smarter strategic decisions.
  • Target the Right People: Focus your sales and marketing efforts on the relevant departments and key decision-makers.
  • Efficient Management: Save time—manage even large, complex company groups from one place.
How to Set Up and Use a Company Hierarchy

Creating Parent-Child Relationships
  • Each company can be linked as a parent or child from either company’s profile page.
  • To set a parent:
    • Go to the child company’s profile.
    • In the company details, find the Parent company field and select the existing parent company.
    • Alternatively, use the “Actions” menu and select “Add a Parent Company.”
    • Search for the parent company or create a new one, then press Confirm.
  • To set a child:
    • On the parent company's profile, use the “Actions” menu and select Add a Child company.
    • Search for and link the child company.
Note: Each company can only have ONE parent. Structures can go up to 3 levels (parent, child, grandchild) but not deeper. No company can be its own ancestor or descendant (no cycles allowed).

Parent Company Profile
Parent companies show a complete overview, including:

Children Total and Won Deals: The sum of all open deals for child and grandchild companies and the total value of all won deals from subsidiaries.

Deals: Lists every deal of the parent and its children/grandchildren (filter and paginate as needed).

Activity Feed: See all activities for both parents and subsidiaries. New filters let you focus on a specific company.

People: Improved contact management enables you to view people across the entire family of companies.

Children Companies: Instantly see all linked children and grandchildren.

TIP! Tap the three dots in the Children Companies section to see a visual diagram of the hierarchy.

Access Rights
If you have access to a parent company, you automatically have access to all its subsidiaries—no extra permissions needed.

Important Rules
  • Structure Depth: Only three levels (parent, child, grandchild) are allowed.
  • Single Parent: Each child can have only one parent.
  • No Loops: A company can’t be its own ancestor or descendant.
