About Active Campaign

ActiveCampaign is a robust email marketing, marketing automation, and CRM platform designed to help businesses of all sizes engage with their customers more effectively. It offers advanced features such as automated workflows, segmentation, and detailed analytics to optimize marketing efforts.

This integration lets you send People information from Pipeline CRM directly to Active Campaign. You can select the criteria to send the information.

Integration Setup

Pipeline Admins need to set the integration by navigating to the Pipeline App Store, and clicking install:

To set up the integration between Active Campaign and your CRM, follow these steps:
  1. Prepare Data: Ensure your CRM contains all necessary information such as first name, last name, email, and phone number.
  2. API URL & Keys: Obtain the API URL & key from Active Campaign.
  3. Configure Active Campaign: Setup API connection
  4. Configure integration: set up the criteria to send information to Active Campaign
We will guide you through the setup, step by step:

Integration Configuration

On the Active Campaign integration configuration, set up the criteria. This defines the logic of when a person's data should be transferred to Active Campaign. We support most of the people's data which allows you to manage the logic of data transfer.


We recommend using person tags. The logic shared below means that when a person's tag is updated to include "activecamp" that person's information will be pushed to Active Campaign.

The people with an existing tag "activecamp" will not be transferred to Active Campaign, unless the person is updated.

Our recommendation is to create a new person tag, filter the people list view, and bulk update the tag for the people in the list.

The next step is to configure the API URL & Key.


To configure the API, you need to navigate to settings (gear icon, bottom left corner) and navigate to Developer. Here is the support article from Active Campaign to set up the API.
Copy the API URL & Key and paste it into the respective fields in the Pipeline's Active Campaign Integration configuration, and hit save.



Click on "Back to app store" and enable the integration.




How to Use the Integration

Once the integration is set up, you can use it to automatically send the people data from Pipline CRM to Active Campaign

As an example, the person tag in the Pipeline CRM was set to "activecamp". Since that is the criteria defined, you will find this person in Active Campaign.



We send people entity data (first name, last name, email, phone number, etc.) from Pipeline CRM to Active Campaign. These will appear as Fields in Active Campaign and can be used later to create targeted marketing campaigns. We create these fields by default when the integration is setup

Data Syncing: Once the data is available in the Active Campaign, any changes in the Pipeline CRM will be reflected in the Active Campaign as well. Now you have the Pipeline CRM people data in the Active Campaign, you can start:
  1. Automated Campaigns: Use the data in Active Campaign to create automated email campaigns, segment users, and personalize messages.
  2. Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the performance of your campaigns in Active Campaign and use its analytics to optimize your marketing strategies.
