Check how many emails you can send from Pipeline CRM and what happens when you reach a limit. These limits protect your deliverability and keep your email account in good standing with your provider.
Pipeline CRM sending limits
Limit
What it means
20 emails per minute, per user
Emails over the limit are queued and sent in the following minutes. None are dropped.
1,000 recipients per bulk email
Each bulk email send can go to up to 1,000 recipients. See Send a Bulk Email.
What happens when you hit the per-minute limit
- Sending pauses: Pipeline CRM temporarily stops sending more emails.
- Emails queue automatically: Once the minute passes, the next batch of up to 20 emails starts sending.
- All queued emails are sent: Emails stay in the queue until they're sent. No emails are dropped.
If you're sending a bulk email or an email campaign, Pipeline CRM handles the queue for you. You don't need to do anything.
Email provider daily limits
Your email provider also sets its own daily sending limits, on top of Pipeline CRM's limits. Common limits:
Provider
Daily sending limit
Gmail (personal)
500 emails per day
Google Workspace
2,000 emails per day
Microsoft 365
10,000 emails per day
Going over your provider's limit can put temporary sending restrictions on your email account, regardless of your Pipeline CRM settings.
Other activities that count toward your provider's limits
Your email provider's rate limits apply to all email operations, not just sending. These activities also count:
- Filing email activities
- Inbox synchronization
- Responding to email changes
High activity, like frequent syncing or filing, can temporarily reduce how many emails you can send, even if you haven't sent many messages.
Troubleshooting
Why are my emails sending slowly?
You've likely hit the 20 emails per minute limit. Emails keep sending automatically as capacity becomes available.
Why did my campaign stop sending?
Other email activities, like syncing and filing, may be using up your provider's rate limit. Wait a few minutes or reduce other email activity.
Why am I getting errors from my email provider?
You may have gone over your provider's daily sending limit. Check your provider's usage dashboard and wait until the limit resets (usually after 24 hours).
