Column filters match from the start of a field. The % wildcard tells Pipeline CRM to match anywhere in the field instead, which is how you search on a partial name, an email domain, or part of an address.
How the Default Works
Type "Corp" into a text filter and you get every value beginning with Corp — "Corporate Holdings, Inc." matches, "Starbucks Corporation" does not.
Put a % in front and both match.
Run a Wildcard Search
- Open a list view.
- Click the funnel icon on the column you want to search — Work Email, for example.
- Click into the search field.
- Type % followed by the text you are looking for.
Entering %@domain.com returns every record whose email address contains "@domain.com", wherever it appears.
Wildcards work on text fields. Dropdown and multi-select columns filter by ticking the options you want instead — see Customize Columns, Filters, and Sorting in a List View.
Once the filter gives you the list you want, save it so you can come back to it — see Save, Find, and Set a Default List.
