Pipeline CRM Glossary

Quick definitions for the terms you'll see throughout Pipeline CRM and this help center.

Account — Your organization's Pipeline CRM subscription, covering all users, data, and settings under one plan.

Activity — A logged record of an interaction that already happened — a call, email, meeting, or site visit — attached to a Company, Deal, or Person.

Activity Category — A label used to classify Tasks, Events, and Activities (e.g., "Follow-up Call") for consistent reporting.

Company — An organization your contacts are linked to. Each Company record aggregates its related Deals and People.

Custom Field — A field you create to track information specific to your business, in addition to Pipeline CRM's built-in system fields.

Dashboard — Your home base in Pipeline CRM, surfacing pipeline health, agenda, starred lists, and recent email activity at a glance.

Deal — A revenue-generating opportunity tied to a primary Company (and usually one or more People), tracked through the stages of a Pipeline.

Event — A calendar item with a required start and end time, such as a scheduled meeting or call.

List View — A saved combination of filters, sorting, and columns for Companies, People, or Deals, used to organize and quickly return to a specific slice of your data.

Person — A contact — a lead, customer, or other business relationship — associated with Companies and Deals.

Pipeline — The visual roadmap of your sales process, broken into customizable stages (e.g., Qualified → Meeting Booked → Proposal Sent). Accounts can have multiple Pipelines depending on plan.

Private Activity — An activity marked visible only to admins and executives, hidden from Basic and SuperShare users (Grow plan).

Project — A post-sale delivery workflow tied to a won Deal, used to track implementation or fulfillment milestones.

Record — A single entry in Pipeline CRM — one specific Company, Person, or Deal. Every record has its own profile page showing its fields, related records, files, and full activity history. "Record" is the general term for any of these three item types.

Stage — A single step within a Pipeline that a Deal moves through on its way to Won or Lost.

Starred List — A List View pinned to your Dashboard for one-click access.

Task — A to-do item you need to complete, with an optional due date and an open/completed status.

Universal Search — The search bar available throughout Pipeline CRM for instantly finding Companies, Deals, and People.
