Choose whether Copilot makes changes right away or checks with you first, and, as an admin, set limits for your whole account.
Auto and Strict Mode
Mode
What happens
Auto
Copilot makes the change as soon as you send your request. Every user starts in Auto.
Strict
Copilot shows you the change it plans to make and waits for you to approve or cancel it.
In Strict mode, Copilot asks before anything that changes your data or setup — creating, updating, or deleting, and saving a report. Looking things up and previewing a report never ask.
Copilot has no undo. A change is real the moment Copilot makes it, so use Strict mode whenever you want to check a change before it happens.
Switch Your Mode
- Open Copilot.
- Use the mode switch in the chat to choose Auto or Strict.
Your choice is saved and follows you across devices and browsers. If you can't switch, your admin has enforced Strict mode for the account.
Approve a Change in Strict Mode
- Send your request.
- Review the action Copilot proposes.
- Approve it to apply the change, or cancel it to leave everything as it is.
Each request has a time limit of about a minute. A confirmation left waiting past that point is declined automatically.
Set Copilot Rules for Your Account
Before you start: Admin permissions required.
- Click Settings in the lower-left corner.
- Select the AI Copilot tab.
- Turn on or off the settings you want to change. Each change applies to your whole account.
Setting
What it does
Record & configuration deletion
Allows or blocks Copilot from deleting records and configuration items, like stages and fields. It applies whether a user is in Auto or Strict mode. When deletion is off, Copilot stops before anything happens and tells the user that deletion is turned off for the account.
Enforce strict mode
Locks every user into Strict mode, so Copilot asks for approval before any create, update, or delete. The personal Auto or Strict switch goes away.
User access
Turns Copilot on or off for each user in the table. Use the toggle in the table header to change every user on the page at once. Users with access turned off can't open Copilot anywhere in Pipeline CRM.
For a cautious setup, turn on Enforce strict mode and turn off Record & configuration deletion. Copilot then asks before every change and can never delete a record, stage, or field.
Copilot always works inside each user's existing permissions, so no one can use it to see or change anything they couldn't already reach in Pipeline CRM.
