Merge tags are a way to insert customized data into a mass email or email template from the Person record. For example, when creating a campaign or saving an email template, you may want to insert the recipient’s first name into the email to personalize your message. Merge tags will look up the contact associated with the recipient's email and pull in the relevant information to the email
