Milestones

Milestones are important operational and service delivery dates. This is where you are able to manage important items in the customer relationship after the deal has been closed. Some examples of when you might want to add a milestone would be to track and remind your team of customer anniversaries, quarterly business reviews and project dates.

Creating a Milestone

You can create a milestone from the Milestone section of the Company’s customer profile by clicking the + sign located in the top right-hand corner.

Once the sign has been clicked, a box to add a New Milestone will appear. The Milestone must be given a name.

Next, you can add a description and date to the milestone. The description field can be used to include any necessary information for you or your collaborator(s) regarding this Milestone. The date allows you to set the specific date of the Milestone which will enable the option to set up a reminder in the lower area of the box. If you set up a date for a milestone, it will appear on your agenda and calendar.

The Status field allows you to indicate whether the Milestone has not started, is in progress, has been blocked, or has been completed. It is not required that a status be set and it may be edited at a later time.

Milestone Collaborators

Milestone collaborators are going to be any user on the account that you would like to have involved in managing the milestone. Being a collaborator gives the user visibility of the Customer profile, a reminder of the upcoming milestone, and automatically tags them in all activities posted pertaining to that Milestone. Collaborators may be added when the Milestone is created or an existing Milestone is edited.

Milestone Visibility

Milestones may be added and edited by any user with visibility to the Customer or Company it is associated with.

Milestone Component

Once a Milestone has been created, it will display in the Milestone section of the Company’s customer profile page. From left to right, the date, name, and status of the Milestone are displayed. If you click on the name of the Milestone and the profile images of all collaborators for that Milestone will appear. On the far right, there is also a gear icon. Clicking on the gear icon will open a dropdown list that will give you the options to either Edit or Delete the Milestone or create a Task, Event, or Activity specific to that Milestone. If you click on the name of the Milestone and the profile images of all collaborators for that Milestone will appear.

Pinning a Milestone

Pinning a Milestone will display that Milestone in the Company Details section of the customer’s page. This makes it possible for users to easily access and view these important dates. The option to pin is located in the New Milestone box when the Milestone is initially created and can also be found by choosing to edit an existing Milestone.

Filtering Other Features by Milestone

You are able to filter the Activity feed section of your customer’s profile page as well as the Agenda for tasks and events linked to these Milestones.

Setting Milestone Reminders

You are able to set a reminder to be sent in-app and by email to all collaborators. You are able to set the reminder for anywhere from 1-25 days, weeks, or months before the date of the milestone.

Milestones are important operational and service delivery dates. They may have related to-do items, and you can track the status of milestones. Some examples include the project delivery date, the date of the final invoice, and a customer’s anniversary.
