What Does the Mailchimp Integration Do?

  • Seamless Contact Export: Export selected contacts from Pipeline CRM to Mailchimp in a few clicks.
  • Automated Contact Sync: Automatically add new Pipeline CRM contacts to your designated Mailchimp list using the Primary List feature.
  • Key Data Transfer: Fields synced: Work Email, First Name, and Last Name.
  • In-App Campaign Reporting: View Mailchimp campaign opens, clicks, and bounces directly in Pipeline CRM contact profiles.
  • List Management: Manage Mailchimp lists, including double opt-in and welcome email settings, right from Pipeline CRM.


Getting Started: Connecting Pipeline CRM to Mailchimp

  1. Create Your Mailchimp Account
  2. Access Integration in Pipeline CRM
    • Go to Settings  â†’ Mailchimp.
  3. Find and Add the Integration
    • Search for “Mailchimp” and click Learn More.
    • Click Connect My Pipeline Account with Mailchimp and log in with your Mailchimp credentials.
Important: If you haven't already, create your audience/list in Mailchimp before exporting.

Exporting Contacts to Mailchimp

Before you get started, double-check that all the “required” fields in Mailchimp, like phone and company, are filled out in Pipeline to prevent any issues.

Option 1: Automated Sync to a Primary List
  • Enable a Primary List in Pipeline CRM to auto-add new People records to your main Mailchimp list.
  • Choose your desired list and select double opt-in and welcome email options as needed.
Option 2: Manual Export
  1. Filter Contacts: Use the People tab in Pipeline CRM to find the contacts you want.
  2. Select Contacts: Check the contacts you wish to export.
  3. Export: Click More → Export to Mailchimp and pick your Mailchimp list.

Tracking Campaign Performance in Pipeline CRM

After you send an email campaign in Mailchimp, you’ll see a new Mailchimp section in each contact’s profile in Pipeline CRM, including:
  • Sent campaigns
  • Open and click status
  • Bounces
This allows you to follow up based on real engagement.

Viewing and Managing Mailchimp Lists

  • Go to the Mailchimp Integration > Click on "Your Mailchimp Lists".
    • See all of your Mailchimp lists imported into Pipeline CRM.
    • Select double opt-in/welcome email options for each list.
    • If your Mailchimp list doesn’t appear in Pipeline, an Admin should click Update my lists from Mailchimp! in the integration settings.

How does double opt-in work?
Learn more about double opt-in. Double opt-in ensures new subscribers confirm their signup before joining your Mailchimp list, improving compliance and deliverability.

Why can’t I see my list when exporting to Mailchimp?
Your lists may not be synced. An Admin should refresh lists and enable those needed.

Why did my export fail to reach Mailchimp?
Failing exports usually mean a Mailchimp-required field isn’t filled in Pipeline CRM. Remove the requirement in Mailchimp or fill in the missing data first.

Are unsubscribes in Mailchimp reflected in Pipeline CRM?
No, unsubscribes are not automatically synced. Update Pipeline CRM manually if a contact unsubscribes.

Do updates in Pipeline sync with Mailchimp?
No, the integration is one-way (Pipeline → Mailchimp). Changes made in Mailchimp won’t sync to Pipeline CRM automatically.
