Set Up Performance Pulse

Performance Pulse tracks your sales against targets for each part of your business — a product line, territory, or sales channel — so you can see what's on track and where to focus. Setting it up takes three parts: create your lanes, assign them to deals, then set goals.

    Before you start:

    • Performance Pulse is available on the Grow and Enterprise plans. See the pricing page.
    • You need admin access to create lanes.
    • Decide how you want to split your revenue. Common choices:

    Split by

    Example lanes

    Product line

    Software Subscriptions, Hardware Devices

    Territory

    North America, Europe, Central America

    Service type

    Consulting, Implementation, Support Packages

    Brand

    Brand A, Brand B

    Sales channel

Direct Sales, Partner Sales, Online Store

    Create Performance Lanes

    1. Click Settings in the lower-left corner.
    2. On the General tab, select Performance Lanes.
    3. Click \+ Add new lane.
    4. Enter a name for the lane.
    5. Turn the lane on for deals.
    6. Repeat for each lane you need.

Require a Lane on Every Deal (Optional)

Make the lane a required field so no deal is left out of your Performance Pulse numbers.

    1. Click Settings in the lower-left corner.
    2. On the Data Entry tab, select Conditional Fields.
    3. Create a rule, or edit an existing one, that runs when a deal is created or updated.
    4. Set the deal's Performance Lane field to required.

For more on rules, see Require or Lock Fields with Conditional Fields.

    Assign Lanes to Deals

Set a deal's lane in any of these places:

    • When creating a deal: Choose the lane in the deal form. If the field isn't on the form, an admin can add it — see Customize Add/Edit Forms.
    • From the deal profile: Edit the lane field.
    • When importing deals: Include a column for the lane.

    ## Set Performance Pulse Goals

Once your lanes are in use, an Executive can set revenue targets for each person and lane. Performance Pulse then answers questions like:

    • Who on my team is on track to hit their target, and who isn't?
    • What's selling, and what isn't?
    • How is each business line doing in each territory?
    • Are we on track to meet our current commitments?

To set them up, see Create and Track Performance Pulse Goals.
